Breakout Session Speaker
Bazzel Baz
Breakout Session Speaker
Carl Chinn
As president of the Faith Based Security Network (FBSN) Carl Chinn is a thought-leader / teacher on intentional security readiness and operations at faith-based organizations. Among other contributions to ministry security, Chinn developed the threat intelligence program for New Life and managed it for ten years. He brought the same program to the Colorado Springs community through the Faith Based Safety Coalition which now serves as a model for other coalitions across the U.S.
Carl Chinn was introduced to the need for security while serving as Building Engineer for Focus on the Family – a Colorado ministry founded (and led at the time) by Dr. James Dobson. Like others in faith-based management, Chinn had dismissed the subject of emergency readiness & inside security through much of his career, considering it an inconvenient distraction of debatable importance. After all – isn’t that what 911 is for?
Experiences changed his views on the subject.
In 1996 he was a responder in a standoff with an angry gunman who took hostages at the Focus on the Family ministry. Following the attacker’s trial, Chinn began researching and writing on the subject of criminal and other incidents in North American ministries. In 2005, he and others began to develop an intentional security program for New Life Church in Colorado Springs, CO. He was one of the team of responders who engaged the killer on 12/09/2007.
Chinn now speaks to faith-based operators and law-enforcement groups on the subject of lessons learned in ministry security.
Carl and his wife Deana raised their 5 children in the Colorado Springs area and now enjoy 12 Grandchildren.
Breakout Session Speaker
Kamal Saleem
Kamal Saleem was born to a large Sunni Muslim family in the heart of the Middle East. Kamal was recruited by the Muslim Brotherhood at an early age and completed his first mission to Israel at the age of seven. Kamal was also recruited by the Palestinian Liberation Organization (The PLO) and other radical Muslim groups. The many years of his radical Islamist training resulted in Kamal mastering every form of divisive extremist tactics. Kamal left his family and home in the Middle East as a young man to enter his mission field: The United States. He brought with him a tremendous passion to convert as many Christians and Jews as possible for the glory of Allah. He implemented his plan and worked effectively in what we now know as “Stealth” cultural Jihad (Al-Kitmen). In 1985, Kamal’s world turned upside down when he was seriously injured in an automobile accident. A Christian man tended to Kamal at the accident scene, making sure he got the medical treatment he needed. Kamal’s orthopedic surgeon and physical therapist were also Christian men whom over a period of several months ministered the unconditional love of Jesus Christ to him as he recovered. The love and sacrificial giving of these men caused Kamal to cry out to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob acknowledging his need for the Savior. Kamal has since become a man on a new mission, as an Ambassador for Christ, the one true and living God. Kamal having come from among them is uniquely equipped with tremendous insight into today’s world situation with a wealth of knowledge concerning the true culture and agenda of Radical Islam. He is well versed in the Holy Bible, Koran, Hadith and Sira (Shariah Law). He believes radical Islam is the most broadly disguised present danger to Christians, Jews and all non-Muslim people of the world. Kamal carries a message from God to awaken the Church through the truth, education, and relationship.
